2016 Pageant: The Enlightenment

The Miss Mademoiselle Debutante Pageant is designed to prepare participating Mademoiselles for the future by reinforcing the importance of education, character, and community service while expanding their cultural and social horizons through various workshops, speakers and friendly competition.

Ticket Information
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from your Debutante or online. If you are purchasing for a Debutante, please include her name. Physical tickets will be picked up at Will Call at the Pageant.

DEBUTANTE PORTION
WHAT will participants do?        
  • Participate in the workshops:
    1. Etiquette (Presence) 
    2. Leadership – 4Ps of Global Leadership 
    3. Self-Esteem (Persistence) – As a woman thinketh, so is she!
    4. Public Speaking – (Perspective & Process) 
  • Develop her own community service platform with middle school girls as the target audience 
  • Assist with the development of a collective service project with other participants and their chapters
  • Complete a character/story board that illustrate the participant’s hobbies, career ambitions, academic honors/awards, talents, school activities, community involvement, favorite quotes, family, etc. (Displayed at pageant)

PAGEANT WILL INCLUDE
  • An opening dance that will be performed at the start of the pageant (red dress) 
  • Introductions (Name, School, Grade level, Name of platform, etc.) 
  • Talent Competition (dress according to talent)
  • Platform Presentation (Participants must dress in business attire) 
  • Formal Gown Wear  (Participants must have escort)  
  • A waltz with escort – The dance will be taught by a choreographer (white gown)
  • Award Ceremony (white gown)

AWARDS CEREMONY
  • MISS MADEMOISELLE: The Harding Johnson Scholarship - A $750 scholarship to the Debutante with the highest cumulative score will be awarded a scholarship. Additional: Crown, Sash, Roses
  • FIRST RUNNER-UP: A $500 scholarship to the Debutante with the second highest cumulative score will be awarded a scholarship. Additional: Roses
  • SECOND RUNNER-UP: The James & Maggie Washington, Sr. Scholarship - A $250 scholarship to the Debutante with the third highest cumulative score will be awarded a scholarship. Additional: Roses
  • PERFECT ATTENDANCE AWARD: An award to the Debutante who attends all of the seminars, meetings, and practices. 
  • HIGHEST GPA AWARD: An award to the Debutante with the highest overall cumulative GPA for the six-week period ending immediately preceding the Ball.
  • TOP FUNDRAISER AWARD: An award to the Debutante who raises the most funds throughout the competition. 
  • COMMUNITY LEADER OF SERVICE AWARD: An award to the Debutante with the highest cumulative score in the Community Service Platform. 
  • MISS CONGENIALITY: An award to the Debutante voted by her peers as most congenial.
